Hyperlapse

It's kind of a bummer that this is the last thing I made before I stopped for over a year...

I was just testing if I could do a hyperlapse and I made a wonky one but it's allright I guess.

Anyway... here's to making more soon. And hopefully without copyrighted music from now on so my site doesn't have to load for 50 years.

Let's make it meaningful. Or not... I don't know what future me will decide to do.

Few moments

Truly just a few.

A few late evening walks. A few trips with friends. A few trips home from work on a rainy summer day.

It's still all the same, yet seems so much simpler looking back.

Camping trip

Aww man I really freaking love this one.

I love how many memories it brings up.

I love how I actually managed to make it look the way it felt - friendly, relaxed and warm. (emotionally... it was actually pretty chilly and wet)

Also love that I can pinpoint that from the shot at 00:38 onwards - I needed to poop SO BAD.

A few more shots

This one isn't as special to me as the last one... but It's still filled with shots I remember shooting for very specific reasons.

From rushing to the train station to meet my girlfiend to seeing the sky covered with crows when heading home after a work trip at 5 am.

I like the way I made the shots feel, but there's not much else to this really... just a few test shots.

P.S. Keeping a long story short here, but after filming the last few shots a random guy got out of his car and started accusing me of being a drug dealer as he was filming me. Fun times.

A few shots

This one feels weird to me.
On one hand it's just kind of... nothing. A few shots with not much going on. Just a few simple effects and it all comes together to become filler. Maybe I was trying to "go slower" or something. Because all these shots ARE from moments where I conciously stopped rushing. But still - just filler.

On the other hand... a few of the shots have my Dad talking in the background. I don't remember what the conversations were about. My Dad passed a few months after this video. And looking at it now I really wish I could remember every word we exchanged.

I miss you, Dad. We all do.

SK8 DAY

Maaaan I like this one.

My GF got into rollerskating that year and I love shooting it from time to time while I skateboard.
YES - skateboarding with a camera in your hands is dumb and irresponsible and you shouldn't do it... but the video came out real nice.

Looking at it now it's justa real neat capsule of a nice day that I remember real well.

DEVILSTONE 2023

DEVILSTONE is was an incredible alternative music festival held every summer. Sadly they stopped doing them after 2023.
Lucky us though we got to go and see some incredible acts that year (CarpenterBrut, Bob Vylan, PIGS PIGS PIGS PIGS PIGS and a ton of others)

A lot of fun and memorable moments were had with some great friends. And when putting this together I got to edit some of the footage my friend shot on his flip-phone with the footage I shot on my janky dslr. It was a ton of fun to edit.

Trip to Rome

Damn... another trip video. It's as if me and my girlfriend realised that we can just kinda go places all of a sudden...
For real tho... it's really heartwarming to see how much my life got better and warmer as we kept on dating more and more. If you're reading this, Boo - I love You

The video itself is also very nice and fun to look back at. I loved following my girlfriend around all of these beautiful places and getting to enjoy the sights not just through my own eyes, but hers aswell.
It's also nice that I got to play around with so many things in the editing. From the papercut opening I did by hand to getting to realize a few bits I had in my head since shooting them (like the cute bird couple)

Trip to Poland's mountain regions

Woah I barely remember the one year gap of not putting anything out AT ALL.
But I'm also absolutely not surprised by it.

Hell... till I started ripping videos from my Instagram to put on here I thought I never actually finished this one...
I'm really glad to see and finally remember that I genuinely followed through the ideas I had in how I presented everything.
I actually talk into the camera, I made the windows all fun and wonky as I present everything... wow... I'm proud of myself. Not because it's anything crazy, but that I actually followed through with it in some form. (Even if it took me a whole year pretty much to finally edit it)

The trip itself was tiring, fun and weird. From it being kind of a last minute thing and us traveling with my GF's mom's collegues who were in 110% party mode to our buss almost swirving of off a scary mountain road on the last day... By the end of the trip the buss was so busted we barely made it back home.

I also remember the guide being extremely chill, responsible and quick on his feet with the bullshit happening all around us.

Paris trip

Here we go... finally my happy era!

This was an awesome trip I got to take with my GF. We had a great time in Paris. Visited a ton of fun places and cool museums and nobody got on my ass for filming there. I remember the whole trip very fondly.

The edit itself is really nice to me. The first song by Mac Demarco is somethign we listened to on the way there on the plane (or while going back, can't remember exactly). The second is "White Light" by Gorillaz - something I was listening to before finally starting to edit the actual video.

Routine, routine... routine

Needlessly edgy, low effort and pretentious. At least that's how it looks like in retrospect.
But I mean... we've all been there, right?

Either way feels dumb to complain about having a fun job that I get to do every day as I look back at this.

I also hate the audio mastering on this... what was I thinking... barely anything is mixed properly.

3D test

Just a quick test I did with some masking, glitches and 3D models.

It was actually really fun trying to figure out how to put a 3D model of the skull INSIDE a advert stand with the perspective still working correctly.

Sprint test #2

Another attempt if I could squeeze something out in a day. Went for a walk during a lunch break and edited it in the evening.

I like that I played with actual recorded sound here instead of copyrighted music. Felt like putting together my own vibe rather than looking for something that conveys a part of it.

Someone got on new meds

New anxiety medication... that's all I really remember from that period.
Just remember being really emotionally blocked off. Almost unable to express anything.

I like how this one turned out tho. Aspecially the black and white shots with only 1 color in them.

Sprint test #1

Hey I actually like this one.
There's not much I am "proud of" here. But I remember just wanting to make something in a day.
I just went out after work and edited the footage at home while messing with some 3d models.

P.S. Learned that a super detailed eye model is awful to work with on a shitty computer. (duh)

Come oooon man... these are getting hard to rewatch...

Oh boi these are getting hard to rewatch while filling out this page...

So the only thing I remember about this is making it with an actual fever after watching Cyperpunk Edgerunners for the first time. I liked the eye effect the characters got when undergoing cyberpsychosis and wanted to see if I can do something similar in an evening.

idk... I swear I was just sad and edgy... jeeez

Another one made out of footage laying around and just RANCID vibes.

I haven't felt like that in a white... therapy works, gang. Really give it a try if you ever get a chance.

Another one about nothing but not really

This one is also kind of hard to recall. It's just a collection of random footage I had laying around on my computer that I wanted to put together into something.

I do kind of really like some things I did here. Like the pixel sorting and the transitions. Feels like mixing things up.

Also really think that it was from a time where I was re-evaluating what the hell the whole x_x creative project was in my own mind.
I didn't figure it out at the time, but I feel like it was a good starting point.

I'm barely here

This one... is also weird like the rest of them. One one hand I genuinely like how I edited and paced this one. But like... the topic and the vibe I was going for... I have no idea what the fuck I was going through at the time.
I think I was definetely going through something. Around that Time I was going to therapy and dealing with my anxiety and inability to persue things I found enjoyable. So I kind of used this one to went myself a bit creatively.

Care Less

I THINK I was angry at myself or something at the time for not following through with many creative projects. And I genuinely like this one. Feels actually authentic to how I felt at the time. Really got more and more into animating squiggles all over, huh?

The one about nothing

Just a collection of shots and sounds I picked up around the time of making it. Really engrained the dislike of working with vertical videos professionally. Some people can pull it off, but for me it's just very often limiting and annoying. Aspecially while filming.

But beyond that it's a neat capsule of some stuff from that time. Many of the shots are from the "Celebration of Lights" that happens in the city I live in. As well as a few walks I went on with my girlfriend.

"Loneliness Will Stay" (oh boi)

This one... ummm... I think I just wanted to mess around with the cheap drawing tabled I got... maybe it wasn't even a drawing tablet. I just wanted this effect and shot everything in like half an hour (it shows - I know).
I keep forgetting I had bleached hair.

"Loneliness Will Stay" (oh boi)

Oh boi could I have been any more of an edgelord.

Anyway... this one was made just to learn how to warp the text in that chroma-split kind of way. In retrospect now - it's not that hard - just a bunch of warp effects.
I originally made it with after effects back when I didn't curse the very name of ad*be. I bet I could actually do it with davinci resolve with way less crashes now. I should give that a try.

Also that text is such a fucking lie... I'm so not lonely nowadays... so no matter what keep going... never kill yourself, gang.

Edit to Childish Gambino's Algorhythm

Not the first video I ever made. But probably the first where I heard a song and wanted to do something with it.
Looking at it - it's absolutely nothing impressive but there are details here and there that I remember recording and editing that fill me with some nice memories. Like the moving trees being recorded during a car ride with my Dad on my way from uni or work - that part I can't recall.
Doesn't make me crawl in my skin out of embarassment too much since my girlfriend told me this video made her like me in a way, so I like it too.
